About Ren Liv Munson
Ren Liv Munson is a Philadelphia based comic writer and illustrator whose work draws upon manga and alternative subculture aesthetics. Their work frequently includes themes of illness, mental health, and grief, and focuses on narratives which inspire hope and community. In addition to stand-alone illustrations, they have produced a body of work ranging from autobiographical comics and short story zines to vertical scrolling webcomics. Ren is expected to complete their BFA in spring 2025 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where they have studied under notable comics artists such as Beth Hetland, Bianca Xunise, and Jeremy Tinder.
Ren is currently working on a teen graphic novel, The Things Behind Us, as well as writing for the webcomic series Unfound, which will debut in May.
